Project Rook - More Details

What Have I Learned?

I have learned that it is possible (more or less) to integrate the new-style techic with old-style technic. The RC pieces supplied with #8366 can be used to build other RC projects. For Project Rook, this required a little fudging, but it may well be easier if you were building a technic (as opposed to a castle :-) project.

Project Rook's main problem was that on any carpet with a pile deeper than a carpet tile, it struggled to move. It had particular difficulty moving backwards. I think this was due to the weight. The RC motors are naturally designed to go fast as one typically wants a fast RC car; therefore they do not have that much power. Also, the way I attached the rear wheels to the frame could have caused less friction than it did.
